Symeon Eleftheriadis

Symeon Eleftheriadis is a teacher of Byzantine Music at the School of Byzantine Music of the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain in London.
Symeon began his studies in Byzantine Music in Volos, Greece, under the guidance of Michalis Meletis. He completed his studies under Manolis Chatzimarkos, who awarded him the Cantor's Degree in Byzantine Music.
After moving to the United Kingdom in 1994 to study at Middlesex University, Symeon continued his advanced studies at the School of Byzantine Music in London under the guidance of Fr Joseph Paliouras, where he completed the Teacher of Byzantine Music Degree.
He is stil serving as a chanter at the Greek Orthodox Church of St Barnabas in North London, bringing more than three decades of practical experience in Byzantine chant and the liturgical tradition of the Orthodox Church.
Symeon has also been a teacher at the School of Byzantine Music since 1994, passing on the tradition of Byzantine ecclesiastical music to new generations of students. His long-standing service as both a chanter and teacher reflects more than 30 years of dedication to the preservation, teaching and continuation of Byzantine Music in the United Kingdom.
